The category Manager is responsible for providing a suitable product offering that will satisfy the sales strategy across all retail segments. In this role, you will be vital to the success of our brand and is a critical leadership role within our brand function and will own the P&L for all your specific categories. What will you do Working in collaboration with the Licensing Manager, the Category Manager will ensure the growth of most of Danawares\' product categories by being the market and product expert using analysis, essential information, and strategic recommendations to key customer groups to deliver the best suited and most commercial product offering to cover the customer\'s segments. The Category Manager will be seen as the "business owner" for their respective product categories and manages all aspects of product & vendor management, including strategy, product development, design, price and positioning, and placement. To accomplish this, they must manage the product lifecycles within their portfolio. Product category management will include, but is not limited to: \xc2\xb7 Proactively identify and quantify opportunities for current and new product categories by staying on top of all relevant recent trends. \xc2\xb7 Work closely with sales and the President to develop product category plans to satisfy the business growth goals for the Company. \xc2\xb7 Build and propose a specific category plan based on the goals and objectives of the Company suited to satisfy the customer base \xc2\xb7 Execute upon the product development, sourcing, selection & architecture (price and position) \xc2\xb7 Work with sources, China Office, graphics, and all other stakeholders to deliver upon the product strategy. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for thorough product line review of each product category \xc2\xb7 Ensure product listings are entered into the system, in a complete and timely manner, with critical features and benefits and brand positioning communicated \xc2\xb7 Create specific retail channel, brand, and product development opportunities by identifying trends or relevant information that match category type, Company, and customer objectives. \xc2\xb7 Build specific product solutions and business opportunities to satisfy large customers \xc2\xb7 In conjunction with sales & marketing, drive the "Go to Market" strategy and product presentation to sales and customers. \xc2\xb7 Build convincing and relevant license and brand stories to support new product launches directly to and for customers \xc2\xb7 Collaborating with sales and will be responsible for performance (revenue, profitability, and sales placement across accounts). \xc2\xb7 Responsible for building product category catalogues for new launches or customer-specific presentations \xc2\xb7 Responsible for product costs that meet company expectations and category structure \xc2\xb7 Own the product specifications, quality assurance and control for all product specifications \xc2\xb7 Ensure that all licensed product criteria are followed \xc2\xb7 Ensure that the distributor brands are promoted as required and aligned with relevant agreements \xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain the Product development and retail calendars \xc2\xb7 Act as a champion of the customer internally, negotiating performance commitments on behalf of our customer with function owners across the business \xc2\xb7 Review on revenue and profitability growth performance vs. targets regularly, quarterly and at the beginning of the development of each line \xc2\xb7 Be a recommendation force and the customer\'s first call regarding support, knowledge, and category development Skills, experience, and education in support of this role

  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent
  • Five years plus in category management or similar experience in the "CPG" industry
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform complex data analysis
  • Excellent skills with MS Office Excel and PowerPoint & Canva applications
  • Technical competence in adobe software
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Sense of initiative and comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Creative solution focused.
