The Wealth Shelf Management & Investment Research Team provides product shelf management and strategic thought leadership for Wealth\'s distribution businesses. We manage product onboarding, govern decisions and long-term plans for product shelve and platforms, while providing distribution oversight of TD proprietary deposit and investment products. The team blends a strong due diligence approach, acting as the forward-thinking conscious of the business in collaboration with Financial Planning, Private Wealth Management, Direct Investing, Wealth Governance & Control, Risk, and Compliance. The Investment Product Research ("IPR") team working within Wealth Shelf Management & Investment Research, is the TD Bank Group center of excellence and subject matter experts relating to all managed product research. IPR is responsible and accountable for helping to build, maintain and enhance all investment products and Preferred Lists and oversight that is available across TD Wealth. The Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager, Investment Product Research, TD Wealth and will work with the team to conduct the ongoing review and approval process, primarily for Structured Notes/Products, with secondary responsibility to participate in the research and ongoing oversight of Alternative Investment funds, available for sale on all advice-based channels in TD Wealth. The role requires interaction with investment professionals and expert knowledge of financial markets and related investment products. Specifically, the Analyst will be accountable for the following:

  • Primarily accountable for the timely review of Structured Notes/Products, with secondary responsibility for Alternative Investment products, requesting platform consideration
  • Contribute to the active evaluation of the Structured Notes/Products and Alternative Investments approval process
  • Liaise with business partners including operations and product/fund representatives to ensure products are operationally sound
  • Participate in the annual due diligence process for all alternative investment fund companies on the platform; involves working with third party firms to complete RFIs, analyzing responses to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Support the Investment Risk Committee (committee sets guidelines for all approvals on platform) and responsible for preparing Structured Notes/Products updates and presenting to the Committee as required.
  • Special projects and product analysis as required

Job Requirements
  • The successful candidate must have University degree
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Wealth Management
  • Strong preference for prior experience with Structured Notes/Products
  • Investment industry accreditation (e.g., CSC, CIM)
  • CFA and CAIA are a definite asset; at a minimum, the individual must be a CFA level 2 candidate
  • Strong understanding of the capital markets and the investment management field
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and able to present to senior executive member
  • Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills are required to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Well organized, detail oriented and able to execute well in a multi-task environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify issues and recommend solutions
  • The ability to work both as part of a team and independently to complete tasks, including working over and above a regular workday as required
