About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity at our Social and Digital Agency (so.da) on our Lifestyle Team for a Digital Producer. Reporting to the Digital Strategist, you will be responsible for content on such brands as HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, SLICE and History lifestyle brands.

The so.da team is a tight braintrust within a large corporation. It is comprised of a fast-paced and innovative team of strategists, editors, producers, analysts, community managers, designers and platform experts. They are problem-solvers, out-of-the-box thinkers, trend-hunters and data synthesizers. The team thrives on collaboration and communication, and no creative idea goes unexplored.

Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm, create, edit and upload engaging series-related web content that adhere to brand image and target audience
  • Work with roster of content contributors and freelancers: sourcing, fielding pitches, editing content and managing invoice and budget tracking
  • Build and manage series hub pages and related site development, including strategically packaging and scheduling content (video and written) and analyzing performance
  • Collaborate with Digital Strategist, Editors and Social team to effectively integrate content into editorial roadmap
  • Gather series-related assets (short- and long-form video, images and other content) from distributors and partners
  • Adhere to distributor licensing agreements for all series-related content including video, images and any other assets
  • Lead conversations with Marketing and Publicity to ensure show properties are effectively cross-marketed on linear and digital
  • Spearhead initiatives with Digital Strategist, Programming and Publicity teams to gain access to series-related talent and assets to produce compelling original digital content
  • Lead communications with Programming to ensure digital content aligns with broadcast calendar (when required)
  • Collaborate with Social and Digital Strategist to develop YouTube strategy and handle output of priority assets on weekly basis (leverage thumbnail templates, own content creation and execution, optimize channel, analyze performance etc.)
  • Manage execution of sales initiatives and sponsored digital content for show, YouTube/Pinterest and all video content and future platforms
  • Support monetization efforts in video formats through ideation and strategic thinking
  • Review and give feedback on video scripts to enhance video drafts ahead of publishing
  • Collaborate with So.da on ideation and execution of content
  • Manage execution of So.da original series and related excellent digital content and editorial
  • Occasional opportunity to contribute content to Corus lifestyle brands and appear on-camera, across different platforms
About You

What We Need From You:
  • A solid understanding of the type of content that appeals to and engages digital audiences, both video and written
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills to ensure quality control
  • Strong understanding of SEO, QA processes, UX and Design
  • Well-versed in using content publishing systems (such as WordPress, VMS)
  • Strong Photoshop skills and experience deploying content via social platforms like YouTube and Pinterest
  • The ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced, active environment
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills

  • Excellent information synthesis, communication and collaboration abilities
