Your work will have a direct impact on how millions of Canadians from various communities connect with our CBC entertainment properties on YouTube, with one another, and with the diverse voices that make our country so unique.JOB DESCRIPTIONCBC\xe2\x80\x99s Entertainment, Factual and Sports unit is looking for a skilled and dynamic YouTube Producer to help grow CBC\xe2\x80\x99s YouTube presence. The role will primarily work on the main CBC YouTube channel and also assist other entertainment YouTube channels.The Producer will conceptualize, edit and produce long, mid- and short-form YouTube videos to be published on the main CBC channel and other relevant CBC YouTube channels. The position is also responsible for re-versioning relevant videos from other platforms (g. TikTok and Instagram vertical video) for YouTube Shorts.The role primarily focuses on the production and editing of YouTube video but the ability to shoot and package high-quality YouTube video is a strong asset.The Producer will also work on other areas of maintaining the CBC YouTube channel, with the key roles and responsibilities listed below.The successful candidate will have a high fluency in the YouTube mediascape, including a deep understanding of audience, format, packaging and distribution trends on the platform. They must also have strong storytelling skills that translate into the YouTube space.The role will require the successful candidate to work during some weekends or evenings.KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate YouTube video content for the main CBC YouTube channel and multiple other Entertainment, Factual and Sports (EFS) channelsEncode and upload videos to CBC EFS YouTube channelsCreate, maintain or contribute to channel publishing schedules and calendarsCreate and package YouTube Shorts from EFS content and other vertical video platformsLiaise with Media Presentation and other relevant stakeholders in video delivery, QA and acceptance processesWork with transcribers to manage caption workflowUse YouTube analytics to assess and establish trends in audience viewing and modify strategies accordinglyLiaise with various co-ordinating, digital producers, and programming stakeholdersRecommend and implement video SEO and YouTube best practices for new content uploadsCollaborate with Media Solutions and Ad Operations in order to execute against YouTube revenue opportunitiesAssist with Content ID and YouTube monetization policies as requiredDevelop an understanding of online video monetization trends and optimization; share with our growing YouTube Community of Practice at CBCContribute content ideas and participate in creation of original online videoEnsure that new policies on reference files are working effectivelyBook facilities and equipment required for productionOther duties as required, including performing the function or duties of an equivalent or lower classificationThe potential to represent CBC at YouTube-related meetings or eventsQUALIFICATIONSRequires five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience of which three must involve work in broadcasting or a closely related industry, which is directly related to the area of assignmentMust have proven and demonstrated experience creating high-quality video segments for YouTubeMust have proven and demonstrated experience within the social video and YouTube landscapesMust have knowledge and experience of best practices, tools and processes for publishing original online video and repurposing audio/video content.Must have technical knowledge and understanding of YouTube, social media and online video platforms, and how to connect them to podcastsMust have Youtube channel management experienceAdvanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - specifically Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and PhotoshopTechnical and camera lighting experience for producing contentTechnical producing of Life Streaming SegmentsExperience and understanding of various video formats, codecs for distributionExperience editing and optimizing social videosSolid technical knowledge of video production technology and capabilitiesExperience creating compelling video for the web and managing a video channel (ideally on YouTube)Understanding of YouTube monetization best practicesAbility to work on multiple projects with tight deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive, entrepreneurial attitudeTechnical knowledge on how to use YouTube CMS and Content IDOrganized with strong attention to detailPosition requires five years professional experience of video production related experience or a closely related industry, which is directly related to the area of assignmentKnowledge and interest in CBC Gem programming is an asset.EDUCATION REQUIREDJob requires a university degree or equivalent.Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.CBC/Radio-Canada is committed to being a leader in reflecting our country\xe2\x80\x99s diversity.
