Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Manager to oversee the daily operations of our produce department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, with a focus on produce merchandising and customer service. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to manage a team effectively while ensuring the highest quality of products and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Supervise and train produce department staff, fostering a positive team environment. Manage inventory levels, including purchasing, pricing, and merchandising of produce items. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining product quality standards. Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote produce sales and enhance customer engagement. Handle cash management, including cashiering duties and cash handling procedures. Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback and support for team development. Collaborate with other departments to optimize store operations and improve overall efficiency. Maintain accurate records related to payroll, budgeting, and administrative tasks.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Proven experience in retail management or a similar supervisory role within the grocery or produce industry. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus. Proficiency in POS systems and basic bookkeeping practices. Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and training staff members is essential. Strong math skills for budgeting and pricing tasks. A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
