Our Supply Chain group is currently looking to add a

Procurement Specialist

to our growing team, based in Winnipeg, MB.


Reporting to the Procurement Manager, we are seeking an experienced professional who has knowledge and experience developing and implementing strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods. This position will create purchase orders, enter receipts in JDE, track and claim rebates, assist with specific project and estimating requirements, monitor trends and develop /nurture positive vendor relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities



Identify and research potential suppliers Develop and implement strategies for procuring, distributing and storing supplies Organize delivery of material and supplies to job sites Explore and recommend innovative solutions for specific project needs Assist with the preparation of project cost estimates, monitoring of project budgets Resolve stakeholder concerns in a collaborative manner, diffusing issues promptly Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders Drive and maintain Procurement and Supply Chain Management Policy Compliance Ensure documentation is complete and all PO's are issued through JD Edwards Liaise with Finance as needed for items such as accruals, contract terms, changes etc. Risk management and mitigation through commercial structures (PO, Blanket PO, Work Orders etc.) Review and draft RFP packages, RFQ Packages, Blanket Purchase Contracts Provide sourcing and procurement advisory services, policy compliance and support other procurement activities Domestic travel may be required to deal with projects in other provinces

Requirements



Post-Secondary Education in a related field 5 years of progressive experience supporting procurement activities Sourcing experience in a large enterprise (construction preference) Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning financial and commercial terms Experience with an ERP system (ideally JD Edwards)

Preferred Skills / Qualifications



Experience with powerline tooling, equipment and material Experience supporting construction activities
