Federal Fleet Services Inc. is a private corporation that supports military, government and humanitarian operations through the construction, ownership, servicing and management of complex, mission-critical ships. We own and operate the MV Asterix Supply Ship in the mission-critical support of the Royal Canadian Navy across the globe.
This role is a permanent position, offering a very competitive compensation and benefit package (RRSP matching, vacation, and medical/dental benefits). This position is based in Halifax, NS.
Reporting to the Contracts Director, the Procurement Specialist will support the full procurement cycle and provide meaningful value-add analysis to improve the overall strength of procurement planning of the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Sourcing and Supplier Management
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and reliability, in accordance with business and client objectives.
Conduct supplier assessments and audits when required.
Purchasing and Order Management
Ensure timely delivery of materials in line with business or operational requirements.
Logistics, Order Tracking and Monitoring
Cost Control and Budget Management
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or schedule.
Inventory and Demand Planning
Anticipate supply needs based on forecasted demand, and maintenance plans.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Mitigate supply risks by diversifying vendors and managing contract risks.

Key Qualifications
5 - 7 years' experience in a purchasing role (marine industry is desired);
Excellent time management and organization skills;
Build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
Cost and data analysis required;
Excellent communication skills;
Must be able hold enhanced reliability security clearance; and
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but is not required.
