Central City Brewers and Distillers is a craft brewery in the business of developing and selling international award-winning premium craft beer and high-quality distilled spirits brewed without compromise. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, CCBD was voted Canada Best Brewery of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Its Red Racer brand has become a cult icon among craft beer enthusiasts throughout North America. Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. In 2019 we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. storage facility with approximately 2000 barrels of whiskey ageing in this facility. We are proud of being a local-Canadian Brewery that is currently expanding. In 2021 the company completed installation of a new canning line designated for contract manufacturing. JOB SUMMARY The Procurement Manager reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for processing procurement transactions and maintaining inventory of materials, equipment, supplies, and products within Central City Brewers & Distillers. The Procurement Manager will be required to conduct purchasing and procurement requests from various departments, process purchase requisitions, and maintain a computerized inventory and purchasing system. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the maintenance of the ERP database including SKU setups for materials / finished goods, and BOMs
Oversee the purchase of all packaging materials, ingredients, maintenance parts, equipment, and services used by the plant, ensuring cost control.
Oversee the vendor qualification / fulfillment of procedures as stipulated by contract customers and HACCP requirements
Ensures the timely input of receipts / transfers into the ERP
Ensures all supplier / service provider invoices are reviewed and approved on a timely basis. Develop / implement internal controls for financial approval.
Maintains proper inventory levels of production materials in the plant, the warehouse, and at 3PLs
Tracks all incoming shipments from both domestic and overseas sources
Performs negotiations with, and source new packaging, ingredient, and chemical suppliers to reduce costs
Performs negotiations for, and maintain service contracts for the plant
Provides expertise, planning, and execution of new product launches from the perspective of timing and logistics.
Conducts various analysis pertaining to inventory and cost reduction initiatives and supply chain optimization
Maintains ERP system accuracy for all non-finished goods
Establishes process improvements within the Supply Chain department to benefit department KPIs
QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Leadership skills required to oversee a small team, delegating tasks and responsibilities as required.
Lead transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
A background in purchasing, inventory management, logistics, and product management is preferred.
A post-secondary education in business, particularly with a specialization in supply chain is an asset (e.g. TLOG, SCMP, PMAC, etc.)
Well-developed planning, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, flexible, and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
Effective time-management and organizational skills.
Strong negotiation sills and an ability to build long-term relationships with vendors in the industry.
Strong strategic, continuous improvement mindset.
Review contract specifications on behalf of the company.
Communicate with vendors to ensure that the product arrives in a timely fashion.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly procurement reports.
Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
