Job Description

The Divisional Procurement Manager is a key member of the Rohit Communities team, responsible for developing strong relationships with stakeholders to attract the best procurement opportunities. This creative and innovative candidate will play a leading role in recognizing and bridging the gap between the company needs and the new market changes.

What will you do in this role?

  • Maintain budgets for auditing, forecasting, variance reduction, and introducing new products
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all suppliers in the division including, current, future, and past suppliers to maintain capacity and cost controls while mitigating risks
  • Liaise with other divisions to capitalize on opportunities
  • Tendering of new models and projects as well as existing inventory to reduce costs and risks.
  • Continually update and maintain standard contracts including scopes of work, specifications, pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Manage ERP architecture, update budget pricing, set supplier allocations, and update purchase order pricing as necessary.
  • Forecasting requirements for materials and labour as well as costs for all projects that are underway, projected, and anticipated.
  • Lead cost control initiatives from the stages of design, supplier selection, and operational efficiencies.
  • Material sourcing direct, indirect, domestic, and foreign to ensure materials are on time, add value, reduce cost, and are consistent to stakeholder requirements.
  • Coach and mentor team; develop a succession plan; identify and develop the next generation of managers and leaders in the organization
What do we look for?
  • 10+ years' experience in residential and/or multi-family construction
  • Strong critical thinking skills, able to read past the information at hand
  • Ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities
  • Flexible in reacting to changing market conditions
  • Quick study to stay ahead of legislative, regulatory, and building code changes
  • Strength in gathering, analyzing, digesting, and presenting large amounts of relevant data into easy-to-follow conclusions
  • Experience establishing vendor agreements including the ability to strategically assess and mitigate risk with vendors and suppliers.
  • Familiarity with laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Experience in a supervisory, management, or leadership role.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate tools for grading, analyzing, and assessing materials, equipment, supplies, services, and other commodities.
  • In-depth business level understanding of job costing and any construction job costing Enterprise Resource Planning software (we use Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel using advanced formulas and pivot tables.
  • Exceptional forecasting ability with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.
  • Strong skills in mathematics, statistics, and accounting.
  • Direct practical construction experience is favorable.
  • An Engineering bachelor's degree or a quantitative-focused Business or Mathematics/Statistics degree considered an asset.
