Position Summary:




This position ensures that the Supply Chain function is supporting the delivery of exceptional customer service, through managing global procurement strategies and execution. This role focuses on commodity and packaging component buying strategy and execution, ensuring that commodities and components are obtained and ready to be used in products, while striving to maintain a just-in-time inventory strategy. The role will be required to understand the various complexities, requirements and demands upon the Company, and ensuring all required inputs, components and products are on-hand to meet that demand.

Responsibilities & Expectations:



Develops and oversees a global procurement strategy for commodities and packaging components. Recognizes procurement needs for the company, including procurement needs for company facilities outside of head office. Involved with day-to-day purchasing activities. Establishes and grows relationships with vendors, while focusing on ensuring effective pricing, lead times and quality. Evaluates potential risk associated with vendor contracts or agreements. Manages vendor contracts and agreements. Ensures procurement is executed within budget. Develops and innovates supply chain planning, inventory management, inventory controls and logistics systems for the company to ensure strategic objectives and customer requirements are met. Develops plans for supply chain staff growth and development. Establishes and holds staff accountable to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the supply chain team. Recommends, develops and implements systems and procedures to manage and control the company's inventory at all levels. Provides leadership, guidance and coaching to the Supply Chain team. Provides all staff with information, advice and support related to procurement. Monitors and oversees completion of regularly scheduled cycle counts. Manages all of the department's NCR's and ensures root cause problems are addressed, engaging relevant stakeholders as required. Monitors accuracy of the company's inventory. Creates and shares informational reports and shares them with appropriate stakeholders. Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that customer needs and requirements are met.

Desired Qualifications:



Supply Chain Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of procurement experience in a food production or manufacturing setting is preferred. Experience in global procurement and strategy is an asset. Exceptional negotiating skills. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in procurement, purchasing, and sourcing practices. Strong knowledge of ERP system, purchasing, scheduling, and planning in a manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making. Strong communication skills required, with ability to communicate effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, especially with Excel. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to provide mentorship to others. Experience leading a team.
