The Procurement Coordinator will provide coordination for the administrative and communicative functions related to the Procurement of new products. The main focus of this position will be to gather information on new products for submission and the listing process, assist in educating presenting suppliers and brokers, and act as a central internal source of information related to incoming products.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
New Products Coordination:
Works with suppliers to gather all necessary information and samples related to new product presentations; screens products by reviewing samples and listing documents and supports suppliers and brokers through the listing process.
Conducts follow-up and coordination with other areas of the business (usually Purchasing & Sales) as required once decision is made.
Creates internal and external new product launch sheets for all new SKUs.
Organizes and implements pulls of samples for all new products, and ensures they are billed back to suppliers.
Works with the Regulatory Specialist to ensure products meet ingredient and Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements.
Supports procurement decision-making by providing category and sales data.
Conducts follow-up and coordination with other areas of the business (usually Purchasing & Sales) as required once decision is made.
Presentations:
Presents new products to the Procurement Team weekly, using samples, data and information received from the presenting supplier.
Trade Shows:
Meets with brokers and suppliers at 1-2 annual trade shows to receive information about new products. Follows up with brokers and suppliers post-show to gather information to present to Procurement Team.
Advertising Duties:
Track advertising revenue and submit to accounting for processing.
Other duties:
Staff Events: assists People + Culture as requested to implement events for staff, particularly in regards to securing product from suppliers and brokers.
Display Shelf: maintains product placement on display shelf to highlight new products.
As required.
QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS:
Previous work experience in an administrative or coordinator position.
Strong organizational skills, both in daily work and in supporting large events.
Good knowledge of MS365, and intermediate Excel skills.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Industry knowledge (including product knowledge) is a key element of this position.
This position requires a great amount of tenacity and tact, as there is a heavy emphasis on follow-up work.
This position must consider return on investment and relative value in all activities performed while balancing the needs of the supplier community.
COMPENSATION + WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week).
Starting salary:
$52,645
6% vacation accrual, and 3 weeks of vacation time after the first year of employment.
One Roving Stat (personal day) per year.
