The process technologist provides technical support to PCBA manufacturing operations, on both surface mount and through-hole technologies. The process technologist is expected to have a high degree of expertise on both PCBAs and process equipment and be able to troubleshoot technical problems. The process technologist will be responsible for preventive maintenance on process equipment.
Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
Creating and updating programs for process equipment including surface mount and through-hole operations
Creating and updating documentation for PCBA operations
Supporting PCBA manufacturing operations
Assisting in resolving quality issues with PCBAs
Identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies and reduce costs in PCB Operations
Analysing and implementing cost-saving and/or capacity-increasing solutions in PCB Operations
Conducting preventive maintenance on process equipment
Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Requirements:
Technical diploma or degree in electrical / electronics engineering / technology
Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
Minimum 5 years related experience with PCBA manufacturing equipment, including ASM, MyCronic, EKRA and DEK stencil printers, ERSA Versaflow Selective Soldering, ERSA Powerflow Wave Soldering, etc.
Strong understanding of IPC PCBA manufacturing standards, including ESD and MSD
Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
Detail-oriented and analytical thinker
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Able to investigate and implement new technologies
