The opportunity

Our client, a leader in their industry, is adding a Process Improvement Engineer to their complex production environment where every project is customized. As the new Process Improvement Engineer, you will work with management to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, efficiency, waste reduction and performance. As the new Process Improvement Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the charge in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive the annual development of company objectives and execute corresponding improvement plans, focusing on productivity, cost reduction, and more.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to the organization in employing Lean and Six Sigma tools for ongoing improvement.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive roadmap for operational improvement, collaborating with the management team for seamless execution.
  • Maintain and promote a robust project selection process, prioritizing initiatives for maximum impact and benefit.
  • Lead initiatives to identify improvement opportunities, develop project plans, and oversee implementation and monitoring of refined processes.
  • Establish communication mechanisms to track and manage progress against objectives, utilizing relevant metrics and benchmarks.
  • Analyze and enhance manufacturing and administrative processes using Lean tools to streamline operations.
  • Coordinate multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion within allocated budgets.
  • Drive cost-saving efforts through various strategies like cycle time reduction, transactional efficiencies, and process simplification.
  • Advise managers and executives on integration opportunities and process enhancements across work groups.
You have:
  • The experience and education. You bring experience in improvement projects within technological manufacturing environments. A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering is preferred. You are familiar with Ontario Health & Safety regulations.
  • The relationship-building skills. You have the confidence to draw on your expertise and make well-thought-out decisions. You have outstanding oral and written communication skills, and you are experienced with stakeholder management, change management, collaboration and motivation techniques. You thrive in and can influence cross-functional teams.
  • The knowledge. Experience driving process improvement and lean strategies across different functional areas and business processes. You can understand interdependencies and the awareness to make the right decisions for the business.
  • The flexibility. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment with high complexity.
