Aisin Canada Inc. (ACI) manufactures a range of tier- 1automotive products for Toyota and Lexus models. These products include sunroofs, doorframes, moldings, power back door, touch sensor and center pillar garnish.

The Process Engineering Specialist is responsible for positively impacting our business through planned cost reduction, quality Kaizen improvements and improve the Health, Safety and wellbeing of our employees, through improvement of manufacturing processes/procedures, equipment / tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations.

Responsible for the introduction and implementation of new business and technologies to the facility, focusing on cutting edge automation and lean manufacturing techniques to place Aisin Canada Inc. as a leader in Automated Manufacturing.

Demonstrate leadership qualities and drive company initiatives and KPI to exceed expectations of long term targets.

Position Responsibilities:



Reading Engineering drawings for new product and designing the Process to meet the capacity requirement within the budgeted amount. Quoting new business, updating, and maintaining quotes based on engineering/ drawing changes to meet or exceed planned/agreed targets. Preparation of fixed asset proposals, equipment deliberation and ROI on all new projects. Must have a thorough understanding of cost to manufacture the commodity and plan to reduce. Budget / asset tracking for all projects. Meet requirements for official handoff to Plant Level @ launch timing, pending executive approval. Preparing and updating core documentation for customer and IATF requirements Source equipment and tooling to be used in Manufacturing and taking care of PHSR before commencing the operation of the equipment. Responsible for scheduling and leading trials for new product, until appropriate handoff, in Co-ordination with the manufacturing production plans. Leading and keeping track of any modifications to the equipment and conducting safety reviews for any modifications that deem necessary. Evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of engineering controls to improve processes. Leading cost saving kaizens to meet the yearly APR for the product line and maintaining the profit ratio. Support, if critical, Maintenance and Manufacturing engineers in troubleshooting major breakdowns and implementing engineering Countermeasures to avoid future downtime for similar issues across the plant. Responsible for reducing scrap ratios by continuous improvement ideas. Preparing Work Instructions for equipment operation and changeover. Responsible for the design and purchasing of tooling, new and replacement and correlate all spare equipment allocation. Preparing core documents for the new model launch based on the customer requirements Manage and update plant layout for optimal efficiencies. Participate and support training of other teams to support ongoing improvement

Skills and Experience



Minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in a similar engineering role in an automotive JIT manufacturing environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize work with minimal Supervision. Experience in dealing with contractors and compliance with government plant and/or equipment regulations. Dedication and discipline towards work. Excellent communication skills. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel. Commendable experience in CAD software including, Auto-Cad, Solid-Works and Catia. Extensive knowledge of CSA / PSHSR/ ESA/ WHIMIS

Additional Skills and Experience



Tier 1 Automotive or OEM experience is desired. Experience in sourcing equipment and tools. Lean Six Sigma certification from ASQ is an asset.

Education



Bachelor's degree /College diploma/Certificate in a Mechanical field or related discipline is required. Red seal trade consideration
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,600.00-$87,000.00 per year
