Demonstrating a strong working knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, the Process Engineering Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing processes are optimized and function effectively, specifically for Surface Mount Technology (SMT). The Process Engineering Specialist is knowledgeable about surface mount technology, reflow, automated optical inspection (AOI), solder paste inspection, and quality inspection. Focused on collaborative problem-solving, the Process Engineering Specialist works to minimize down-time on the production lines as well as improve line efficiencies, quality, and processes.
Job Duties:
Work directly with the Process Engineering Manager to assist with all manufacturing process related functions, including process implementation, Process trouble shooting, and process improvements.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
Collect data and provide spreadsheet analysis including product data, yield reports and any other information as needed.

Keep the SMT working area in good order.
Follow all relative regulations, policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
3-5 years' experience in electronics assembly and manufacturing.
Knowledge and application of Surface Mount Technology, Reflow, AOI, and Inspection
Experience in Reflow Profile
Working experience with assembly jigs and SMT carriers
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to follow work instructions and process flow
Expert at comping skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Conformal Coating knowledge is considered an asset
Hand and Wave Soldering knowledge is considered an asset
IPC acceptability knowledge is considered an asset
Ability to interpret and follow company policies and procedures.
Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize strategic tasks in a time-sensitive environment

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
