Miru is a clean-technology start-up of 50+ employees developing electrochromic windows to reduce greenhouse emissions, increase sustainability and improve energy efficiency. Miru operates a state-of-the-art pilot production facility in Vancouver and is in the midst of constructing a demonstration plant to scale up production of our electrochromic window technology for our architectural and automotive clients. Our eight-month Process Engineering Co-op opportunity is centered on fast-paced formulation development and optimization. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our electrochromic window systems by rapidly iterating, testing, and refining anode and cathode ink formulations. Your work will directly contribute to the development of next-generation smart window technologies.

Throughout this co-op, you'll gain extensive hands-on experience with ink preparation, coating, and device assembly, while working closely with our process engineers and development scientists. You'll be instrumental in generating performance data, locking in high-performing formulations, and ensuring these materials meet the strict demands of a highly sensitive optical system.

We value curious, detail-oriented individuals with a collaborative mindset and a strong sense of ownership. Candidates with a foundational understanding of electrochemistry, ink or slurry formulation, or thin-film processing techniques will be well-positioned for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



As a science or engineering co-op student at Miru, you will work directly with more senior staff on a variety of projects. Tasks and responsibilities for this role may include:

Assemble electrochromic test devices while learning proper handling and cleanliness practices Record observations and process details clearly in lab notebooks and digital logs Assist with basic testing and characterization of electrodes and devices, including switching response and visual inspection Work with engineers and technologists to understand and troubleshoot issues Learn to use lab tools and software for data entry, basic analysis, and reporting Contribute to updating SOPs and work instructions as you gain experienceMaintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following safety guidelines Take part in team discussions and project updates to share what you're learning
