JOB SUMMARY:



As a member of the engineering team, the process engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth launch of new projects and engineering changes. Ensure that the engineering-controlled documentation used to support production is kept up-to-date and stored correctly on the server. Work with engineering on new project development. Complete the data translation as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



Maintain documentation for the process flows. Must assist projects from conception to completion (timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off, prototype programs, and engineering changes). Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards. Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of the production process. Development documentation, mechanical drawings, and equipment for cycle time, ergonomics, and repeatability. Collect, record, and transcribe data. Prepare reports, charts, and other documentation required for engineering records and projects. Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers. Assist in developing material handling logistics (i.e., isle layout, bin placement, dunnage, etc.). Lead the implementation of all customer-approved engineering changes, including part-level communication updates, sample part updates, and process sheet updates. Create the layout of cells as per the design. Aid in drawing data transfers between Sodecia GTAC and their customers and suppliers. Liaise with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders on a technical level and present reports, publications, and presentations in a professional manner. Act as the process leads to studies and projects. Develop or bring forward, as appropriate, industry best practices and new technologies. Develop innovative solutions. Prepare and review project proposals, studies, and technical reports. Ensure that projects are completed on time. Research and purchase new manufacturing technology. Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process. Evaluate and improve processes in manufacturing systems. Apply sound basic knowledge of safety, environmental, and energy-related issues during the execution of projects, ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations. Develop and/or assist with new business proposals. Perform other duties as required from time to time by your manager.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:



Post-secondary education in applied fields or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work-related experience (mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering degree). 3 years of work-related experience in the automotive industry Knowledge of UG and Catia would be an asset. Proven understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks May be required to work overtime to meet customer needs. Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Understanding of all aspects related to the manufacturing of automotive stamping, welding, processing, and automation. Proven experience in requirement analysis, design skills, presenting technical information, equipment maintenance, conceptual skills, quality focus, general consulting skills, control engineering, product planning, and job knowledge. Outstanding verbal and written communication, with excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work independently and in a team setting and ask for the expertise of others when needed. Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and maintaining timing deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Office areas and manufacturing environments Travel is required in and out of the country as defined by project requirements and as requested by the manager.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
