Our team is looking for an Intermediate Process Engineer who is driven to further their career in a fast paced, dynamic workplace, and is looking to further their career. An important part of this role is working with a multidisciplinary team that possess the ability to communicate effectively with people of all backgrounds. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a natural ability to solve problems using both theoretical and practical engineering concepts. You will work alongside a talented team of experienced professionals in the Engineering and Design team. Educating the project team and effectively communicating your designs and design basis' is a key part of this role.

The team is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, however we provide exceptional engineering services to companies located worldwide.

Requirements and Expectations:



The successful candidate must present the following characteristics:

Takes responsibility of project deliverables, including authenticating designs and drawings

Ability to design specialty components and systems

High degree of due diligence

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, guidelines and engineering best practices

Understand and develop heat & material balances for a variety of processes

Strong process background with the ability to engineer a piping process from scratch for

various commodities including oils, gases, sulphur, fertilizers, conventional fuels, and

renewable fuels

Strong academic skills to be able to calculate process conditions and size equipment and

process components for industrial facilities

Engineer, sketch, and review piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) as well as

process flow diagrams (PFDs)

Work effectively and efficiently with the project and design team

Ability to review CAD drawings and apply relevant markups for drafters/designers

Understand equipment and piping specifications and be able to make recommendations

when necessary

Ability to complete project deliverables (engineering reports, drawings, calculations,

specifications) on time and on budget

Ability to estimate the number of hours required to engineer a specific scope of work and

work within that budget

Ability to work with vendors to acquire and review vendor and subcontractor quotes and

drawings for relevant process equipment

Ability to take responsibility for a variety of tasks and see them through till the end

Provide assistance with commissioning of projects as needed

Qualifications



The successful candidate must be registered with a Canadian provincial engineering association as a P.Eng., such as APEGA, APEGS, EGBC, etc., with approximately 6 or more years of experience in a dynamic civil and structural engineering role.

You must be willing to practice among multiple provinces and obtain the necessary cross provincial licenses as required

You must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and go above and beyond expectations.

Must be able to handle very detailed work and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and due diligence

Must be willing to authenticate documents and drawings

Must be willing to provide mentorship as needed

Must have a great attitude and be proactive

Proficient in MS Office

Experience working with point clouds for 3D modelling would be an asset
