Join Schwank North America as their Process Engineer! You must be eligible to work full time in Canada and hold current travel documents to travel to the U.S.A. facility.



We are seeking an experienced and proactive Process Engineer to lead manufacturing process improvement initiatives out of our new Mississauga facility in Canada and Waynesboro facility in USA. This role will focus on optimizing assembly processes, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), and designing tooling and jigs. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on problem-solving skills, CAD design capability, and a drive for efficiency.



The successful candidate will work closely with our production and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, improve workflow, redesign our assembly lines, and support the launch of new products. They will be directly responsible for projects that reduce labor costs, improve throughput, and increase consistency in product quality.



We are looking for someone with 3+ years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience and a proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing principles. Experience in assembly operations, tooling design and vendor management for custom fabrication is essential. HVAC and/or industrial equipment manufacturing experience is a definite asset!

Responsibilities:

o Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to optimize assembly line productivity



o Design, prototype, and refine jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve speed, ergonomics, and quality



o Work with external vendors to fabricate, source, and validate custom tooling and fixtures



o Develop and maintain clear, visual SOPs and work instructions for all key manufacturing processes



o Collaborate with our R&D team on new product development to ensure efficient production ramp-up and assist in design for manufacturability



o Collaborate with a cross-functional team to support an upcoming ERP transition, ensuring manufacturing processes are well integrated



o Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including kaizen events, lean manufacturing projects and digitizing existing processes



o Analyze scrap, rework, and downtime data to implement root cause corrective actions



o Provide engineering support to production staff to troubleshoot and resolve process issues



Qualifications:

o Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)



o 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering or process improvement role



o Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) for tooling and fixture design



o Experience managing external vendors for custom tooling and fabrication projects



o Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (5S, SMED, value stream mapping, standard work)



o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills



o Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization



o Experience in HVAC, industrial equipment, or assembly manufacturing is an asset
