We are now preparing for our upcoming commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients.

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Process Design & Sustaining Engineering Lead to serve as a critical bridge between day-to-day manufacturing operations and the process design team. This role is instrumental in ensuring the development and implementation of robust, scalable manufacturing processes that support high-volume production. The ideal candidate will possess strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement.



Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

The Process Design & Sustaining Engineering Lead will have access to design resources through direct and dotted line reporting structure and will lead the identification and implementation of improvements to current manufacturing processes. This role will report to the Director of Product Development.



Your responsibilities will include:



Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to maintain real-time awareness of process issues affecting production. Ensure consistent engagement and coverage from Process Design Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assess and resolve ongoing manufacturing challenges. Lead the triage, resourcing, and execution of process improvement initiatives in coordination with design, manufacturing engineering, and quality team stakeholders. Provide direct and SME-supported shadowing of manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for enhancement. Act as a liaison between design and production teams to ensure manufacturability is considered early and throughout the product lifecycle. Support the development and standardization of best practices for process design and implementation.

You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes:



Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, with?7+ years of relevant industry experience. Demonstrated expertise in?concurrent engineering, process design, or manufacturing engineering?within fast-paced, high-mix or high-volume production environments. Strong?analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills, with a practical, hands-on approach to identifying and resolving complex process issues. Proven ability to?lead cross-functional initiatives, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining focus on quality, efficiency, and scalability. Exceptional?communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building effective partnerships across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. Deep knowledge of?manufacturing systems, quality frameworks, and?continuous improvement methodologies?such as Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent. People leadership experience, including mentoring technical staff, coordinating SME contributions, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. A proactive mindset with a passion for?driving innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable process improvements.

Compensation



Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.



As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium's stock option plan.



$120,000 - $150,000 (CAD Annually)
