The Private Wealth Associate \xe2\x80\x9cInternal Wholesaler\xe2\x80\x9d is a member of a team of private wealth professionals delivering institutional quality investment management, private banking, financial, estate and tax planning services to High Net Worth (\xe2\x80\x9cHNW\xe2\x80\x9d) individuals and their families, as well as institutions across Canada.

Manulife Private Wealth (\xe2\x80\x9cMPW\xe2\x80\x9d) is currently seeking a bilingual Private Wealth Associate \xe2\x80\x9cInternal Wholesaler\xe2\x80\x9d to join their team in Toronto, Ontario.

The successful candidate will be accountable for building presence and enabling sales growth for Manulife Private Wealth with select independent advisors, centers of influence (COIs) as well as internal Manulife corporate partners, through prospecting as well as sales and marketing support.

This is a national role focused on multiple markets across the country. Focus on specific markets is determined based on business needs from time to time.

Reporting to the Head of Distribution for MPW, the Manulife Private Wealth associate \xe2\x80\x9cInternal Wholesaler\xe2\x80\x9d is accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Working in collaboration with the Private Wealth Consultants (External Wholesaler) and Investment Counselors to generate sales.
  • Prospecting, building, and strengthening new relationships with advisors and COI\xe2\x80\x99s primarily by phone.
  • Understanding the advisors and COI\xe2\x80\x99s book of business (goals, targets, expectations, needs) while uncovering opportunities to recommend MPW solutions.
  • Growing the territory by optimizing our core advisors\xe2\x80\x99 and COI\xe2\x80\x99s relationships, helping build relationships and engagement with existing core advisors that we actively do business with.
  • Help provide follow-up and marketing support for Private Wealth Consultants (External Wholesaler) and Investment Counselors.
  • Identifying external/internal events where MPW should be present.
  • Participation in Face-to-Face meetings from time to time.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, sharing insight with management.
  • Act as one of the lead facilitators for digital / social media campaigns.
  • Build presence and enable sales for MPW with corporate partners through presentations, organizing events, identifying referrals, and identifying business development opportunities.
  • Promote and coordinate internal speaking opportunities / collaborative events.
  • Help coordinate, document, and manage formal internal referrals.
  • Willing to develop and share ongoing best practices, sales, marketing and business development ideas and strategies with peers.
  • Prior experience and usage of a CRM.
  • Become a champion of CRM utilization within the MPW organization.
This role combines pro-active sales activity by providing pre and post-sales support, including following up with advisors and COI\xe2\x80\x99s, continuously learning and understanding Advisors/COIs/internal partners business through outbound calls as well as other means of communication.

What are we looking for?
  • College or University degree in a related field
  • Fluent in French and English
  • 2-4 years of sales/marketing/call-center experience in the financial services industry
  • Solid knowledge of the wealth management industry and an understanding of local financial markets
  • Knowledge of the HNW segment is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • \xe2\x80\x9cPeople person\xe2\x80\x9d who is willing to accept coaching
  • Self-starter, adaptable and confident

  • Successful completion of industry related courses or working towards completion of industry related courses such as the CSC, WME, CIM.
