The opportunity:



Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Finance, the Associate Vice-President, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for overseeing the annual operating and capital budgeting processes.



Working closely with senior management and key stakeholders, the AVP, Financial Planning & Analysis will also drive organizational success by holding business units accountable to the strategic vision of the company. This position will be critical in achieving the company's profitability goals.


Key responsibilities include:


• Oversight of budgeting and financial planning systems.
• Working with Business Unit leads to build and/or maintain business planning models; run scenario analyses, annual budgets, and forecasts.
• Analyzing and reporting of financial and operational results to better understand company performance.
• Utilizing BI tools to deliver meaningful insights into business performance.
• Communicating to senior management the reasons behind the product/department performance and results.
• Providing detailed analysis and commentary on cost center results and reviewing with cost center owners.
• Reviewing operations and recommending new productivity or cost saving initiatives.
• Reviewing existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts.
• Evaluating previous budgets, expenditures to develop and implement future budgets.
• Communicating results and recommendations to senior management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations.
• Provide insights to senior management around financial modelling, forecasts, and profitability.
• Performing other duties as assigned.


The ideal candidate will possess:


• 5+ years' financial services industry experience, FP&A experience, or relevant analytical experience working in a high growth environment.
• Experience working with large companies with multiple operating divisions.
• Experience in the wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset.
• A post-secondary degree in finance or related field.
• CPA designation required.
• Advanced experience with Workday Adaptive software.
• Highly proficient with Excel and BI tools
• Experience with enterprise FP&A systems and accounting software.
• Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to problem solve complex issues.
• Strong business acumen with a practical mindset
• Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.


Conditions of employment:


• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must be able to travel 0-5% of the time.
