Position



A Plastics Printing Supervisor oversees the production activities of a printing department that utilizes plastic containers. This includes managing staff, ensuring quality control, optimizing production processes, and maintaining a safe working environment. They are responsible for coordinating workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that printing jobs are completed to customer specifications within established timelines.

Job Duties



Manage the resources of the shift to ensure all goals are achieved, including but not limited to safety, quality, production and cost. Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of printing operators and other related personnel Assigning tasks, monitoring workflow, and ensuring efficient production processes. Establishing methods to meet production schedules and coordinating work with other departments. Ensure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the department. Reviewing printing proofs or samples to ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards. Troubleshooting printing, ink, and plate-related issues. Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate and reduce risks. Supports and investigates situations in which line stoppage occurs. Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner. During all shift changeovers: communicate between shifts and departments to anticipate and prepare for any possible production matters. Promote a Safe and Productive "TEAM" work environment by setting goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals. Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. Develop back-up leadership to effectively run your shift during your absence Communicate with all employees on any changes, including procedures, schedules, and safety. Follow all company policies and safety procedures. Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Required Experience and Education



2-3 years of hands-on experience in plastics manufacturing, including operation of injection molding or thermoforming equipment. Proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management (TQM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), HACCP, SQF standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Experience with changeover, set up, troubleshooting and automation of Polymac Handle Fitting/Forming and Heisler Denester and handle fitting/forming machines are required. Experienced in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting printing machines and related production equipment to ensure consistent quality and minimal downtime Outstanding interpersonal and people management skills, with strong ability to influence actions without direct reporting authority, is essential to this role. Computer skills in Word, Excel Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, and ERP systems Post-secondary education in manufacturing, business or other related fields. Ability to effectively coach, positively influence and support Team Members and proven track record in leading change. Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent safety record. Proven ability to avoid compromising safety for speed, production, etc. Proven ability and a willingness to fulfill individual responsibilities, while working closely with other operational stakeholders.

Work Conditions:



Office and plant exposure with considerable time spent on shop floor. Must wear all required personal protective equipment: CSA approved safety shoes in good condition, applicable hearing protection, applicable safety glasses and hair net. Exposure to hot, humid condition in the summer months. Noise exposure. Maintain a high degree of safety awareness, in all areas of the plant
