Project Manager

About the Role



The Print Production Project Manager acts as the key liaison between customers, sales, and the production team to ensure packaging and print projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical understanding of printing and finishing processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities



Project Management



Manage print and packaging jobs from order entry through to final delivery. Create and monitor production schedules, ensuring deadlines and customer expectations are met. Coordinate with sales, prepress, pressroom, finishing, and shipping departments to align project timelines and resources. Identify risks, resolve issues, and escalate concerns when necessary to prevent delays.

Customer Service & Communication



Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts. Provide job status updates, proofs, approvals, and post-production reports. Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction. Work with sales on estimates, project scoping, and repeat job documentation.

Quality & Compliance



Review job dockets and specifications for accuracy before releasing to production. Ensure compliance with brand standards, colour profiles, and regulatory/GMP requirements. Oversee quality checks throughout the production cycle and assist in root-cause analysis for quality issues.

Process Improvement



Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in workflow, scheduling, and customer communication.

Qualifications & Skills



2 years' experience in print production, packaging, or a related manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of printing processes (offset, digital, flexo), substrates, finishing, and colour management. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills. Proficient with ERP/MIS production systems and MS Office (Excel, Outlook). Customer service oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. Problem solving and decision-making skills under tight deadlines. Post-secondary education in print management, graphic communications, or related field is an asset.
