We are currently recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer with expertise in lithium to join our Minerals and Metals team in the Vancouver office.About the Role\xc2\xb7 Provide technical leadership in the design and development of lithium hydrometallurgical processes for mining projects. This will include review of metallurgical testwork, selecting appropriate processing technologies, designing process flow sheets, and determining the parameters for each stage of the process.\xc2\xb7 Provide assurance of technical expertise to our clients and add value to their business case with ingenious engineering design.\xc2\xb7 Perform trade-off studies to optimize the process configuration to maximize the clients financial objectives.\xc2\xb7 Approve and deliver process design in accordance with sound design principles by adhering to design practices and specifications which meet operational, safety, environmental and functional requirements.\xc2\xb7 Provide advice and technical expertise to Ausenco engineers worldwide as a Global Subject Matter Expert.\xc2\xb7 Manage the performance of Process Engineers to produce process and design deliverables for studies and projects by monitoring and assessing progress and activities.\xc2\xb7 Motivate Process Engineers towards exceptional performance through mentorship, training, and professional development.\xc2\xb7 Support the success of projects through excellent communication skills and close coordination with Study Managers, Project Engineers, and Discipline Leads to deliver high quality outcomes for our clients.\xc2\xb7 Provide invaluable insight to support decision making through quantification of process parameters in terms of cashflow and economic outcomes, as well as identifying and mitigating of project technical risk.QualificationsAbout You\xc2\xb7 Mineral Processing and/or Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering degree with ability to register as a P. Eng.\xc2\xb7 10+ years experience in lithium hydrometallurgical project development across both mining studies and projects\xc2\xb7 Hydrometallurgical testwork and process design experience in lithium processes (including brines and hard rock). Copper, gold, nickel, cobalt and/or manganese experience would be an asset.\xc2\xb7 Experience publishing white papers, operating pilot plants, commissioning, and full-scale operations considered an asset.\xc2\xb7 Knowledgeable in MetSim, SysCAD, HSC modelling or other modelling software\xc2\xb7 Has a solid appreciation of industry technology and a desire to understand and gain strong appreciation of emerging technologies.Why Ausenco?We support individual growth and aim to allow you to work in a way that plays to your strengths.
