Summary of Role Anthesis\xe2\x80\x99 Supply Chain Sustainability team is looking for a highly motivated Principal Consultant to support our growing work helping clients to deliver our ambitious strategy for the Decisive Decade. Engaging an organization\xe2\x80\x99s supply chain is a challenging but critical area for companies to drive environmental and social transformation and minimize their ESG-related risks. Clients are increasingly seeking our help to develop and deploy effective supplier engagement, supply chain due diligence and responsible sourcing programs that leverage technology, best practices, and collaborative networks to deliver measurable performance improvement against their public-facing goals.
Our projects and client base are varied, but we are looking for this role to support the following:
Sustainable Supply Chains including key clients in the technology, pharma, retail, agriculture, and apparel and textiles space
Sustainability focus areas will be varied and can include topics such as, greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs)/science-based targets (SBTs), waste, fair labor practices, and/or diversity, equity and inclusion, deforestation and nature based solutions.
Sustainable procurement, sustainable materials and supply chain management
Solution implementation and strategy development, including developing data processes
Sustainability due diligence
Ethical Trading and Human Rights across a variety of sectors
Define and deliver business processes to collect and manage other environmental and sustainability-related supply chain data
Design and implement supplier engagement and capacity-building programs
Establishing supplier engagement and responsible procurement program policies, processes, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development \xe2\x80\x93 You will be responsible for driving new business development, the development and delivery of proposals for potential clients. You will expand the scope of engagement with existing clients, helping them drive their sustainability agenda. You will support team development through competency building, training, and mentoring.
Key Account Development \xe2\x80\x93 helping to guide and support deeper and longer-term partnerships with valuable and impactful clients over time.
Offer Development: Lead on the Supply chain sustainability , supplier engagement, human rights and social impact. service offer, under the direction of the Business line lead and the service line lead including a leading role in defining offerings, path to market and business development
New client origination: Lead in developing, selling, and delivering existing and new products and services, including leading pitches with clients.
Subject Matter Expertise (SME) - You will serve as a SME in the development and implementation of responsible sourcing and supplier engagement strategies, working alongside clients to evaluate their in-house and supply chain operations, and designing policies, programs, and strategies that align with an array of ESG topics. You will advise in carrying out supply chain ESG risk analysis, integrating and developing responsible sourcing systems and processes, creating educational materials to support client procurement teams and suppliers to build capacity and enablement, recommending and supporting the deployment of supply chain data solutions and technologies, and building and carrying out supplier engagement programs for clients.
Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 As a Principal Consultant in our team, you will be expected to manage the delivery of moderately-sized or complex client engagements targeted at improving sustainability, specifically in the areas of supply chain sustainability, supplier engagement, human rights and social impact. You will be responsible for these projects being on time, budget, and schedule. Your role will involve managing several projects and dedicated project teams at any one time. You will be expected to perform senior level review of client work products.
Client Management \xe2\x80\x93 You will lead and grow client relationships, managing client expectations and delivering on their ESG goals and objectives and acting as the primary point of contact. You will be responsible for developing and delivering proposals that demonstrate an understanding of the client\'s business and tailored scopes of work to achieve their goals. You will work to develop a trusted advisor relationship with all clients and focus relentlessly on helping them be successful in defining and achieving their sustainability goals.
Sustainability Performance \xe2\x80\x93 You will advise clients how to prioritize, evaluate and improve their social impact and human rights performance within the supply chain. This will include desktop research, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and the integration of advanced data analytics.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
6-8 years of experience in a consulting role focusing on sustainability & Supply Chains
Experience with solution selling and leading business development from discovery through delivery
Proven work experience working in supply chain, sourcing/procurement, or any supplier-facing role
An established understanding of sustainability/ESG issues, especially around energy and greenhouse gas emissions, science-based targets, and/or experience with sustainable procurement practices and strategies related to human rights, diversity equity & inclusion, or other relevant social/environmental topics
Experience in delivering high quality and professional reports, in multiformat and for various audiences.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, including data collection and management, with advanced Excel skills (knowledge of other analytical software such as Alteryx/Tableau/PowerBI etc would be a bonus).
Experience delivering projects either in house, in the supply chain or in a consultancy or NGO environment.
Working knowledge of sustainability reporting, including ethical trading and/or corporate sustainability reports.
Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Excellent communications and project management skills
Self-organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment
Professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise Able to work on virtual teams across different time zones
