Auscan OHS is seeking multiple Primary Care Paramedics to join our team at a major project site in Northern Ontario. Medics will primarily provide onsite medical care to injured workers, and arrange transportation to a medical facility as required. This is a fly-in position with transport to and from the job site arranged and paid for you, and accommodations on site will be provided. Shifts will be 14 days in length. The medics we are seeking are self-motivated, enthusiastic, and confident in their role as paramedic. The following qualifications are required for this position: \xc2\xb7 Active registration with a provincial Paramedics Association as a Primary Care Paramedic \xc2\xb7 Current Basic Cardiac Life Support . IV Certification \xc2\xb7 Current International Trauma Life Support \xc2\xb7 Valid unrestricted drivers License \xc2\xb7 Current and clean Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Abstract \xc2\xb7 Current Standard Field Level Tickets, Standard First Aid, & WHMIS \xc2\xb7 Physically capable of working in adverse weather environment and conditions \xc2\xb7 Willingness to work shift work, including nights \xc2\xb7 Willingness and ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening Experience working as a paramedic or other medical professional in remote settings is an asset for this role. Your primary duties include: \xc2\xb7 Ensuring that injured workers are provided with immediate and professional on-site medical care, and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to a medical facility \xc2\xb7 Always acting in a manner that ensures the client\xe2\x80\x99s dignity, safety, privacy and confidentiality \xc2\xb7 Being familiar with work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures \xc2\xb7 Taking reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures \xc2\xb7 Reporting to the Lead medic and management immediately after any incident or upon discovery of any condition believed to be hazardous to worker\xe2\x80\x99s health and safety \xc2\xb7 Refusing work if danger is imminent or not controlled \xc2\xb7 Reading, understanding and complying with Medical Control Guidelines, Safety policies and Job Procedures, as well as applicable government laws and regulations \xc2\xb7 Working within their applicable scope of practice determined by their licensing body and under the medical control of the client medical directors\xe2\x80\x99 guidelines Employees can expect to start on February 28, 2023.
