Job Description


DXP | HSE Integrated Ltd. is currently seeking Primary Care Paramedics for work in Chatham, ON.
A Primary Care Paramedic's (PCP) main objective is to ensure that injured workers are provided with immediate onsite medical care, and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to a medical facility as required.
Start: End of June or July - August 6
Rotation: 6:1 or 13:1
Shift Length: 10-12 hours
Accomodation: Must be local to the Chatham, ON area.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand, and comply with HSE's Medical Control Guidelines, Safety Policies and Job Procedures, as well as all applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Report to the areas Station Manager and take specific job directions from Operations for the station in which he/she is working.
  • Work within their applicable scope of practice determined by their licensing body and under the medical control of the HSE Medical Director, utilizing the HSE Medical Control Guidelines.
  • Always act in a manner that ensures the patient's dignity, safety, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure that injured workers are provided with immediate and professional on-site medical care and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to additional medical care as needed.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • You may be required to wear full personal protective equipment (PPE) for the entirety of your shift which includes facemask, gown, gloves and face shield.
  • Be familiar with and work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures.
  • Report the HSE Integrated supervision and management immediately after any incident or condition believed to be hazardous to worker's health and safety.
  • Refuse work if danger is imminent or not controlled.
Certifications and Requirements:
  • Current (unrestricted) registration as a PCP with the applicable Provincial licensing body.
  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid
  • Current, unrestrictive, and clean Driver's Abstract
  • Physically capable of working in adverse weather environment and conditions.
  • Willingness to cross train for other positions/locations.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your Supervisor.
Position Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Registration with the Association of Registered Nurses of NL
  • Minimum 2 years experience in acute care nursing
  • Knowledge of offshore operations and current offshore legislation
  • Current ACLS
  • Current BTLS
  • Valid Seafarers Medical and Discharge Book
  • Training as required by the CAPP Standard Practice for Training and Qualifications of Personnel and Transportation Canada
  • Above average computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to be a strong team contributor
Certifications Considered to be an Asset:
  • Registration with the Occupational Health Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Health Nurse
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate
  • Offshore/Remote Nurses Program Certificate
  • FPSO experience preferred
