Your role

Reporting to the Manager, Promotion and Public Relations, you plan, recommend, develop and coordinate the execution of innovative public and media relations strategies for content and productions under your responsibility, ensuring they align with corporate priorities, standards, policies and branding.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development

  • Develop strategies and objectives for public and media relations events, including communications plans, news releases, invitations, Q&A documents and training courses (if necessary), ensuring their relevance and accuracy.
  • Plan, design and implement public and media relations events (announcements, screenings, media junkets) based on the promotional sequence determined with the 360 social media and publicity teams.
  • Identify producer needs, recommend promotional content to be featured and determine timelines for deliverables.
  • Ensure that the necessary visuals are created and developed for each event and comply with Radio-Canada branding standards.
  • Attend meetings with content teams and producers to discuss planning and implementation of PR activations and initiatives for each assigned project.
Advisory Role
  • Recommend public and media relations events for projects under your responsibility, factoring in any issues that could impact Radio-Canada\xe2\x80\x99s corporate image and reputation.
  • Support, guide and advise content teams, producers, external publicists and talent in rolling out PR activations for assigned projects.
  • Supervise the preparation of interviews and public appearances by spokespeople, artisans and artists.
Representational Role
  • Act as a single point of contact for internal and external resources associated with each project under your responsibility.
  • Respond to media inquiries (requests for interviews, information, visuals, etc.) related to projects under your responsibility.
Coordination
  • Oversee the steps involved in producing public and media relations events (needs identification, costing, submissions, timelines, resource availability and approvals) with all stakeholders.
  • Determine spokespeople for each event.
  • Arrange and manage interviews; develop and pitch story ideas to journalists for media coverage in connection with a series, program or documentary.
  • Prepare interview question lines and miscellaneous reports (media impact, etc.).
  • Maintain media contact lists.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communications or marketing (acceptable equivalent training may be considered)
  • Five (5) years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant public relations experience, including active participation in marketing strategy (other comparable experience may be considered)
  • Extensive knowledge of the journalism and media market
  • Good general knowledge and knowledge of the arts scene
  • Demonstrated media relations experience and relationships with reporters/columnists covering television, radio and streaming platforms
  • Experience organizing media or public relations events
