Role Summary

As the Senior Public Relations & Communications Manager (SPRCM), you will develop strategies which directly support the organization\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategic goals to maintain and enhance the positive public image of the organization, with efforts focused on lasting, positive impressions with Eminence\xe2\x80\x99s Team-members, Spa Partners and Customers. You will take the lead on Crisis Communications, working with cross-functional teams, including members of the Executive Team. As the SPRCM, you will also lead a team in key areas, including our charitable initiatives (The Eminence Kids Foundation and Forests for the Future\xe2\x84\xa2), community engagement, advertising, events, media relations and special projects. You will report to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of PR and communications experts who create on-brand content and opportunities to position Eminence Organic Skin Care as a world-class organization with exceptional products and services
  • Oversee Public Relations efforts, including strategy, budget, implementation, tracking and results
  • Support the Senior Public Relations Specialist in managing the external PR Firm to organize media events, press releases, editorial content, etc.
  • Approve communication strategy to leverage Eminence\xe2\x80\x99s successes (e.g., awards, testimonials, celebrity endorsements) and measure the success of campaigns
  • Work with other Divisions to integrate PR efforts and successes into various Spa Partner and Retail Customer-facing deliverables
  • Oversee creation and execution of the Public Relations plan as part of the Go-to-Market strategy for each new product launch and promotion
  • Prepare and/or review PR reports for various stakeholders
  • Ensure the Public Relations Team deploys a range of tactics to share positive impacts internally within the Eminence organization and to the broader community
  • Oversee the nurturing and development of mutually beneficial relationships with VIP Customers, including celebrities and make-up artists
  • Manage corporate and stakeholder communications to ensure clear, consistent and effective messaging to our internal and external audiences
  • Respond to relevant inquiries from the media and other parties in a timely manner, including acting as a company spokesperson as required
  • Lead the company\xe2\x80\x99s Crisis Communications strategy and develop processes to create an efficient workflow
  • Work cross-functionally with Customer-facing teams to monitor, assess risk, respond to, and diffuse escalated situations
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, plus 5 years of hands-on experience in the development of marketing/communications plans or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience developing and executing strategic plans and project management
  • A minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in leading a team
  • Understanding of, or experience in, the spa industry is an asset
  • Experience with a non-profit charitable organization is an asset
  • Charismatic and engaging, polished public speaking style and excellent written communication with superior grammar and composition skills
  • Ability to exercise diplomacy and discretion and to handle highly confidential information
  • Proven experience in building rapport and trust with key business leaders and Team-members and the ability to work well under pressure and with various styles of leadership
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, risk analysis, problem-solving, organizational, consultative, facilitation, consensus-building, conflict resolution, and exceptional Customer service skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to travel 10-20%
