Responsibilities

Material Preparation

: prepare paper stock and other materials required for printing jobs, ensuring they meet specifications such as size, weight and quality

Machine setup

: assist in the setup and calibration of offset printing presses, including adjusting rollers, tension and ink levels according to job requirements

Loading and Feeding

: load paper stock into the press feeder, making sire it aligns properly and feeds smoothly during the printing process. Monitor the feeding process to ensure consistent and accurate paper registration.

Quality control

: inspect printed materials from for defects such as smudges, color variations or misalignments. Make adjustments to the press as necessary to maintain print quality

Material Handling

: remove printed materials from the press and stack them in an organized manner for further processing and packaging

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

perform routine maintenance tasks on the press feeder, such as cleaning rollers, lubricating parts and replacing worn or damaged components. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and assist with resolving them to minimize downtime.

Collaboration:

coordinate and communicate with the press operators, bindery personnel and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of jobs Perform other tasks as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Strong aptitude for learning and operating printing and production machinery. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods during shifts. Excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented attitude. Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment (including nights and weekends).

Preferred

Experience as a press feeder or at least exposure to manufacturing or printing environments (co-op, part-time, or technical school experience). Interest in packaging, printing, or graphic arts.

Pay range:

CA$20.00 - 30.00 per hour depending on experience
