The Opportunity:
As a Recreation Preschool Instructor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children as you support their growth and development. You will work closely within a team to implement engaging and educational activities for children in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities include:
Provide quality recreational and educational opportunities to children in a licensed preschool setting
Responsible for program implementation and following a predetermined lesson plan
Promote a healthy, safe environment for children to play and explore
Build a positive relationship with children and their parents
Share in the daily cleaning and sanitizing of furniture, equipment, toys and general room tidiness
Show great customer service and communication skills
You Bring:
A minimum age of 18 years is required
Level 1 Early Childhood Educator or higher is required
Current Standard First Aid - Level C CPR with AED certification
2 - 5 years' experience working with preschoolers in a teaching setting
Understanding of physical literacy and fundamental movement skills an asset
A background in literacy and art considered an asset
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
Ability to work in a team environment
A nurturing personality and genuine love of children
Ability to sit, kneel and squat at children's level for extended periods throughout the day
Role model and engage in active play including but not limited to jumping, skipping, hopping, running, throwing, catching
A minimum age of 18 years is required
Level 1 Early Childhood Educator or higher is required
Current Standard First Aid - Level C CPR with AED certification

Additional Information:
This is a term part-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will follow the education calendar, with scheduled time off during summer break and designated non-instructional day
Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to lift, bend, and kneel. Sitting on low chairs and the floor will be required for the majority of the shifts.
Candidates may be asked to provide a practical demonstration of skills following the initial interview.
