Position Summary

The On-Call Preschool Educator supports a parent participation preschool program by providing high-quality early childhood education and care. This role fills in when regular staff are absent or when additional support is needed in the classroom. The educator collaborates with parents, children, and staff to maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and engage children in daily activities, both structured and play-based. Support the parent participation model by collaborating with parents in the classroom. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all children. Follow lesson plans provided by lead educators, adapting as needed. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators. Adhere to preschool policies, licensing regulations, and health & safety standards. Step in on short notice as needed (e.g., staff illness, training days, increased enrollment).

Qualifications

Experience working with preschool-age children in a group setting. Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification in BC is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with parents. Ability to adapt quickly and maintain professionalism in changing situations. CPR/First Aid certification Flexibility and reliability for on-call availability. ( at least 48hrs)
Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week
