Silver Springs Preschool is a community-based preschool dedicated to nurturing the development of young children through play-based learning and strong family partnerships. Play, in both our indoor and outdoor classrooms, is a crucial and integral part of both the social and emotional development but also of the cognitive and physical development of children.
We are seeking a
dynamic and experienced Preschool Administrator/Preschool Lead
with a proven track record in
early childhood leadership
to oversee administrative operations, support teaching staff, guide the preschool through evolving changes, and ensure a safe, enriching environment for children and families.
This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early education and has the organizational, interpersonal, and strategic skills to manage a thriving community preschool.
Provide visionary, hands-on guidance for all preschool staff in order to foster a positive and productive team environment, build trust, encourage open communication, promote collaboration, and recognize individual contributions.
Serve as a model of strong leadership, empathy, and professionalism in interactions with staff, families, and the community
Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts.
Collaborates with Board of Directors for annual staff contract renewals
Adjudicates current substitute list and ensures members are qualified, vetted, and availability is up to date.
Provide regular feedback, coaching, and support for Teachers and Assistants including goal setting, mid year reviews, and annual reviews
Support Program Lead (Preschool Director) in planning professional development and ongoing training
Support and approve semi-monthly payroll processes
Collaborate with the Board of Directors and staff for strategic planning initiatives in order to develop and implement long-term plans for the preschool's growth and development.
Provide input into budgeting process to address staffing and operational requirements
Lead various projects and initiatives as required
Registration & Enrollment
Coordinate the registration and enrollment process for new and returning preschool students
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in accordance with school policy and applicable regulations (e.g., licensing)
Manage admissions documentation, including applications, family information, and emergency contact information
Maintain accurate records for enrollment, attendance, and health documentation
Respond to enrollment inquiries via phone, email, or in-person visits in a professional and friendly manner
Schedule tours for prospective families and support the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment
Generate regular reports on enrollment status, class rosters, waitlists, and demographics
Collaborate with preschool staff to ensure proper student placement and class balance
Partner with Program Lead (Preschool Director) to coordinate classroom support through early intervention provider
Assist with the organization and communication of school events related to enrollment (e.g., open houses, orientation)
Operations & Compliance:
In collaboration with office staff, ensure full compliance with local licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and organizational policies
Ensure program compliance with the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Act and related regulations.
Provide in classroom support as needed or when qualified substitutes are not available
Attend monthly Preschool Board Meetings and provide input as necessary.
Oversee day-to-day administrative operations
Qualifications:
Certification in the Education field (eg. Bachelor's degree or diploma in Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, Child Development, Level 3 Early Childhood Educator (certification completed or in progress), or other related equivalent.
Ideally 2-5 years of leadership experience in an early childhood education setting, including staff supervision and operational management
Deep knowledge of child development, early learning frameworks, and licensing requirements
Familiarity with Flight: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, support, and hold a team accountable
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Vulnerable Sector Security Clearance from Calgary Police Service
Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
Must be eligible to work in Canada
