Position Overview
We're looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled
Prepress Specialist
to join our team. In this role, you'll be the bridge between customer artwork and final print output -- ensuring every file is production-ready, colour-accurate, and optimized for efficiency and clarity. This is a hands-on production role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in pixel-perfect results.
Key Responsibilities
File Preparation & Quality Control
Preflight client artwork to ensure correct sizing, resolution, bleed, and colour space.
Apply necessary file adjustments and manipulations to ensure production-ready output.
Conduct final quality checks to eliminate potential print or finishing errors.
Colour Management
Perform colour matching to client-specified Pantone references or supplied targets.
Maintain consistency across multiple print technologies (dye-sublimation, UV roll-to-roll, UV flatbed).
Automation & Efficiency
Utilize automation and prepress workflow tools to streamline file setup and production processes.
Report automation-related issues or errors to the Prepress Manager for troubleshooting.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with Project Managers and Production team to confirm specifications and resolve discrepancies before printing.
Generate, review, and send digital proofs for client approval.
Occasionally assist in creating wall mural mockups or elevation drawings for visual reference.
Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a
prepress or print production
environment.
Strong proficiency in
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and InDesign
.
Understanding of
colour management, RIP setup, and print workflows
.
Familiarity with
CRM or production management software
(e.g., ShopVox).
Experience with
Caldera
or large-format printing is an asset.
Excellent
attention to detail
, organization, and communication skills.
3D rendering experience
is considered an asset.
