Position Summary

Reporting to the QA Manager, the Quality Control (QC) Specialist ensures that all printed and digital media products meet established quality standards before reaching clients. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accuracy, consistency, and production excellence across a fast-paced print environment. The QC Specialist works closely with Production, Prepress and Client Experience teams to uphold a zero-defect mindset and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to ensure all printed materials, lettershop packages, and mailroom outputs meet our quality standards. This role supports Production, Prepress, CX, and Fulfillment teams to maintain accuracy, consistency, and a zero-defect mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Verify that printed materials delivered to the lettershop/ mailroom match the correct versions, segments, stocks, and page counts required for each job. Verify proofs, job specs, and variable data samples against final output. Conduct envelope and mail-match checks ensuring correct inserts, versions, BREs, and segment accuracy. Validate postal preparation requirements such as counts, indicias, sortation, and mail-date alignment. Check finishing work including trimming, folding, binding, and packaging. Document QC findings and raise NCRs following internal processes. Identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement. Participate in RCA sessions for recurring print and completion issues Communicate quality concerns to Production, Prepress, and Client Experience. Identify opportunities to optimize QC checkpoints to achieve higher efficiency and lower defect rates.

Qualifications

2-5 years in print production, prepress, or QC (preferred). Strong knowledge of mail preparation, and versioned/ variable-data workflows. Ability to read job tickets, proofs, and production instructions. High attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Working Conditions

Production-floor environment; standing/ walking required. Shift flexibility as needed.

How is Success Measured

Reduction in rework, defects, and mailing errors. High accuracy of QC documentation and client satisfaction. Effective collaboration with Production, Prepress, Digital, Mailroom, and Fulfillment teams. Demonstrated ownership of quality standards across the workflow and improved process consistency.
