Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team.

You must have 2 years experience in a kitchen environment, and be located in Nelson BC to apply

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily menu items, including chopping, peeling, and portioning Support the cooking process by following recipes and presentation standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the prep station and kitchen areas in accordance with food safety regulations Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and within specified timeframes Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary terminology Excellent teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards collaboration Previous experience in serving or supporting front-of-house staff is advantageous but not essential
