We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Lead to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and service, with a passion for fresh from scratch cooking. As the Prep Lead, you will perform and oversee the daily prepping and stocking, ensuring that all food is prepared safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Duties
Perform and coordinate food preparation activities in the kitchen.
Assist in menu planning and development.
Prepare all ingredients for service including butchering of meats.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques and best practices.
Collaborate with other departments to support catering events and special functions.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of commercial kitchen experience and 2 years of commercial prep.
Strong background in food preparation and from scratch menus.
Familiarity with all safe food handling procedures and safety regulations.
Excellent knife skills, high level knowledge of cooking methods and culinary techniques.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to maintain expected standards
