We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are prepped and ready for cooking. This position requires a passion for the food industry, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables, meats, and other items.
Assist in the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other components as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying management of any shortages.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during meal service.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
A passion for cooking and eagerness to learn new skills in the culinary field.
