Macro Foods is a leading healthy prepared-meal company serving thousands of customers weekly across Ontario. Our commissary kitchen produces fresh, high-protein meals for multiple retail locations. We focus on consistency, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.

Position Summary

We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented

Line/Prep Cooks

to join our commissary kitchen team. This role does

not

involve customer service; it is focused on food prep, cooking, portioning, packaging, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and daily prep lists (vegetables, proteins, starches, sauces, etc.). Assist with batch cooking using ovens, steamers, and other kitchen equipment. Follow precise recipe instructions and portion sizes to ensure consistency across all meals.

Meal Assembly & Packaging

Portion cooked food accurately using scales and measuring tools. Assemble meals in containers for MAP sealing and retail distribution. Ensure labels, components, and portions are correct for each SKU.

Quality & Food Safety

Maintain a clean, hygienic workstation at all times. Follow all food safety standards, including handwashing, sanitation, temperature checks, and proper storage. Report any quality issues, equipment concerns, or shortages to the Kitchen Manager.

Teamwork & Efficiency

Work efficiently to meet daily production targets and timelines. Assist teammates and communicate clearly to maintain a smooth workflow. Follow all SOPs, safety procedures, and organizational systems.

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in a kitchen environment (restaurant, catering, or commissary preferred). Ability to follow recipes and portion sizes accurately. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Able to lift 30-50 lbs and stand for long periods. Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
