We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook / Driver to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Prep Cook/Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our catering team.

Duties

Prepare ingredients for cooking by washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager. Set up and take down of banquets and corporate deliveries. Deliver breakfasts, lunches and dinners to events and corporate events safely. Fill out daily vehicle safety logs, maintain adequate fuel levels, clean inside and out of vans Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring all food safety standards are met. Handle food items with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report any shortages to management. Assist with plating dishes and ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred. Clean appearance Able to lift 50 pounds Valid class 5 or better clean drivers license / abstract. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques. Strong skills in meal preparation and cooking methods. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff. A passion for the food industry and commitment to providing high-quality service. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
