We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook/Baker to join our catering team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking. They will also be responsible for basic baking for our cafe. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for food and a desire to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas.
Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food handling.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages to management.
Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Skills
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
