We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients and assisting in meal preparation. This position is essential for maintaining the high standards of food quality and safety that our restaurant is known for.
Duties
Prepare and chop vegetables, meats, and other ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and preparing meals according to established guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.

Must have a car due to limited oc transpo bus service
Must be available Sunday morning to do brunch
Skills
Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role within the food service or restaurant industry.
Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and kitchen equipment.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance in all aspects of food preparation.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen as needed.
Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with fellow staff members and management.
