Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep and Event Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes for events, ensuring high-quality food service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, menu planning, and food safety, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting event catering and meal service with professionalism and culinary expertise.
Duties
Prepare ingredients and assemble components for various menu items according to established recipes and standards
Cook and plate dishes for events, ensuring presentation meets quality expectations
Assist in menu planning and develop new recipes tailored to event needs
Handle food safely, adhering to all health regulations and sanitation procedures
Manage food inventory, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal preparation and service times
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
Support catering operations by preparing large quantities of food for events and serving guests as required
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving at events is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to adapt recipes accordingly
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
Flexibility to work varied hours based on event schedules, including weekends or evenings if needed
Compensation & Benefits
$20-$24/hr, depending on experience
