This is a team-taught course. Three instructors will work together, with one person dedicated to each of Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics. This position is the instructor for the Political Science portion of PPE 200.



PPE 200-001:Foundations of PPE

This inter-disciplinary course will focus on a particular issue (e.g. health care) and examine how that topic would be approached by each of the three disciplines of philosophy, politics, and economics. Emphasis will be placed on the differences between these approaches, and on understandings that emerge only through combining them
Position Requirements
MA or PhD in Political Science or equivalent. Preference related to academic qualifications will be given in the following order: applicants with PhDs; applicants who have completed all PhD coursework and are enrolled in a PhD program; applicants who have completed all PhD coursework but are not currently enrolled in a PhD program; applicants who are enrolled in a PhD program but have not completed PhD coursework; applicants with a Masters degree. Demonstrated expertise in public policy or other areas related to PPE. A record of effective teaching at the post-secondary level.

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
The instructor will deliver the course on campus face-to-face on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1300-1415. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week.

Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
