The Pottery Instructor will lead classes for diverse skill levels, guiding students in creating pottery with a focus on technical skills and artistic expression. Responsibilities include fostering a positive learning environment, managing materials, and offering constructive feedback. the Ceramics Instructor will lead the Sessional Classes for adults and/or children for the Winter and Spring 2026 Terms. Preference will be given to those who can show an understanding of current trends and attached portofolio. Successful candidates may be eligible to teach additional classes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans for adult/youth/kids sessional courses
Provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for all participants
Ensuring student success and satisfaction in with class objectives
Responsible for clean-up and general maintenance of studios after classes
Coordinate with Studio Technician for ceramic firing and glazing
Follow all studio guidelines and policies, and provide quality customer service and instruction to students
Minimum Requirements:
Post-secondary diploma, degree or equivalent in ceramics or other relevant areas
3-4 years demonstrated expert knowledge and experience working with ceramics
Knowledge of Hand-building clay, wheel throwing, using slab roller
3-4 years of experience teaching ceramics courses
Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills
Working knowledge of and experience in an art studio, including health and safety practices
