About the Department/Team We are a research lab at the Department of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) led by Dr. Sarah Dermody. In the CARE Lab, we examine addiction risk from a multidisciplinary perspective\xe2\x80\x94integrating psychological, behavioral, interpersonal, and biological risk factors to better understand the \xe2\x80\x9chow, when, why, and who\xe2\x80\x9d pertaining to addiction risk and risk for other negative health behaviors. Our ongoing research involves large scale national data, ecological momentary assessment research, and laboratory based experimental studies. The Department has 39 full-time faculty members, 6 staff, 1000 full-time undergraduate students, 106 graduate students (33 MA; 73 PhD) and 9 postdoctoral fellows. Our faculty members are highly productive scientists and hold external grants from CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC, NIH, and other sources. In 2011, we partnered with St. Michael\'s Hospital to establish a Clinical Psychology Training Clinic and in 2012, we launched the Institute for Stress and Wellbeing Research (over $1 million committed for research tools and infrastructure). The Department of Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Research position, with possibility of extension for 1 year, in clinical psychology, psychology, or closely related disciplines (e.g., public health, epidemiology). This appointee will assist with grant funded research under the direction of Dr. Sarah Dermody by analyzing data and publishing findings (as first and co-author) from multiple available datasets. The primary project is to analyse the large-scale and multi-year Canadian Longitudinal Study of Aging (CLSA). The main focus of these analyses will be to better understand substance use and mental health outcomes for sexual and gender minority adults. Opportunities will be available to lead other studies using this data and/or to analyze and publish using other rich data sources available from the laboratory (e.g., data from completed ecological momentary assessment and qualitative studies focused on alcohol use in gender diverse youth and adults). There are also opportunities to help manage an active ecological momentary assessment study. The postdoctoral researcher can also receive mentorship from and collaborate with other faculty involved in these projects, including Dr. Trevor Hart. Opportunities to obtain supervision for those seeking licensure with the College of Psychologists of Ontario can be arranged. The postdoctoral research will be supported in applying for grant funding to support subsequent years of postdoctoral funding. Qualifications:

• A PhD in Clinical Psychology or Psychology (awarded within the past 5 years). Candidates with a PhD in closely related fields will also be considered (e.g., public health, epidemiology).
• Experience with and prior training in longitudinal data statistical analysis (e.g., Structural Equation Modeling, Multilevel Modeling) is essential; however, training in advanced applications can be provided.
• Evidence of successful scientific writing in the form of peer-reviewed manuscripts and/or grant applications.
• Proficiency with reference managers and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, MPlus, and/or R).
• Expereince in database management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
