The appointment will be for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension subject to work performance and funding availability.The successful candidate will work in the Lees Lab, a team of dedicated and diverse researchers focused on using electrochemical engineering theory to bring climate solutions from laboratory to market. Focus areas include CO2 capture and conversion, wastewater remediation, and atmospheric water harvesting. The Lees Lab works closely with industry and academic partners from around the world to advance electrochemical engineering theory and design efficient reactors.Applicants should be passionate about developing electrochemical technologies to address critical climate challenges. This role will focus on the research and development of sophisticated continuum models for electrochemical CO2 capture and conversion. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be expected to work closely with the Lees Lab\xe2\x80\x99s industrial partner (Sora Fuel Corp.) to model a novel reactor that electrochemically converts carbon capture solutions into carbon monoxide. The goal of this project is to identify optimum materials, reactor architectures, and operating conditions to inform experiments. The Fellow will lead and coordinate bi-weekly meetings with Sora Fuel Corp. to communicate modelling results, acquire experimental data, and direct future research activities. The successful candidate will also be expected to mentor PhD and Master\xe2\x80\x99s students in the Lees Lab. This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with research and industry experience at the forefront of electrochemistry in the clean-tech industry.
