A 2-year (renewable) full-time postdoctoral fellowship is available in the laboratory of Prof. Alain Dabdoub. The position focuses on decoding the molecular landscape of the human inner ear during development and regeneration and translating these findings to advance therapeutic strategies. Our research investigates mechanisms that regulate auditory and vestibular homeostasis, the regeneration of sensory hair cells, stria vascularis, and auditory neurons as well as the implications for therapies and understanding disorders associated with aging, hearing loss, and balance dysfunction. Our projects combine state-of-the-art computational tools and cutting-edge biological experiments.
Position, Eligibility, and Start Dates
The successful candidate will benefit from a multidisciplinary, collaborative environment, strong mentorship, and access to top-tier facilities. They will take a lead role in projects using single-cell and multiomic sequencing, as well as advanced computational tools. Primary responsibilities will include bioinformatics analyses, with a focus on single-nuclei RNA- and ATAC-seq, interpretation and visualization of complex datasets, and integration with experimental results. Candidates will contribute to research design, data management, analysis, tool development, manuscript and grant writing, and presentations at scientific meetings. Active participation in collaborative projects, training initiatives, and group infrastructure development is expected. This opportunity welcomes applications from all qualified candidates, and the position is open and can start as soon as mutually convenient.
