Description



We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to start in Winter 2026 (or as soon as possible). The fellowship will be supervised by Dr Martine Shareck (www.shareck-lab.ca) and sits within the CentrES study (www.etudecentres.ca) funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. It will mainly involve assessing the short- and medium-term effects of an urban revitalization initiative on young adults' health and social inequalities thereof.

Main responsibilities



Your main tasks will be to:

Organize and analyze data from a longitudinal cohort study (3 measurement points) in line with the research objectives;

Develop, analyze, write, and submit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals;

Assist team members with related tasks (e.g., preparing presentations and other knowledge mobilization documents targeting various audiences, participating in team meetings and activities, contributing to data cleaning, documentation, and related analyses);

Assist the supervisor in mentoring graduate students;

Contribute to the initiation of new projects.

Requirements



Hold a PhD in epidemiology, public health, geography, statistics, or a related field. Candidates who have not obtained their PhD at the time of application must provide a letter from their department specifying the date of their thesis defense;

Strong background in epidemiology and biostatistics, with excellent skills in complex quantitative data analysis (longitudinal data, spatial data);

Excellent scientific writing skills (in English, an asset);

Demonstrated experience in publishing in high-quality epidemiology or public health peer-reviewed journals;

Initiative, creativity, problem solving, and attention to detail;

Excellent academic record and commitment to applying for external grants and fellowships (FRQ, CIHR).

Work conditions



Duration:

Funding is for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate is expected to apply for external postdoctoral fellowships as soon as possible.

Start date:

Winter 2026, or as soon as a qualified candidate is selected.

Salary:

CAD$60,000/year.

Work location:

University of Sherbrooke Health Campus. Flexibility in terms of work location and teleworking is possible.
